Dershowitz was asked on ABC about the claim that President Trump obstructed justice. He said:

"You have to have an act of a crime. The act can not be the exercise of constitutional authority…The most important precedent is the pardon of Caspar Weinberger by George Bush. He did that to stop the investigation. The special council said he did it to stop the investigation. Nobody suggested he obstructed justice."
