It also seems to me (reading more recent drops) is that there is at least a secondary point of bringing things to light. That is to do something about it. Waiting on some of our house to be cleaned is one thing, another is building something to prevent it from happening again.
Building a resilient fourth estate to divest interest is a good start. This board is part of that. So are many of the up-and-coming voices that are building their own media companies.
