There was a real event that used to happen, for maybe 25 years? called 'Bread 'n Puppet' .
it was very famous and well known amoung a certain crowd.
don't think of them as anything other than another point of view . . . it was real.
the politics of it I did not like, but I did like the people. It got a bit out of control.
One year someone was killed in an altercation in the middle of the night (the place would be up all night, hillsides filled with campers and tents and drum circles, on a bunch of farms, that abutted the actual one that had the festival.
the problem was that the abutting land owners would just open up and charge campers to come in and it being a free enterprise mentality , no one could stop them. so it had gotten out of control.
so they don't have it any more , or they keep it in the family . . . you have to know someone connected.
these are famous puppeteers, the designs of their puppets are very well known, and widely circulated. Well known for 50 years.
