Anons, being that there is lots going on behind our backs in the medical field, I'm wondering if any other anons that are getting a routine blood check for whatever reason is now giving two vials of blood instead of the one that I have been giving for a thyroid check for about 27 years.

Asked girl that drew blood and she said two was required of which I questioned. She said "Lab Corp" required it for this test. After getting the bill couple weeks later, I decided to call Lab Corp and question the two vials. Lab Corp told me that I was tested for something else but they weren't allowed to tell me what and that I would have to talk to my doctor who ordered it.

So, I called the Dr. office back and went thru the story again. They ended up telling me that they always take a second vial for "just in case" the doctor wants to order another test; said that they keep it for seven days and then throw it away. I told her this is ridiculous to do and asked her why Lab Corp told me that they tested me for something else. The Dr. Office is going to call me back after she speaks with Lab Corp.

They did the same 2-vial draw on spouse last time also. Not sure what is going on, but this doesn't add up at all.

Thoughts? Are they drawing extra blood to use elsewhere?

Thanks for your thoughts. All I know right now is that somebody is lying about the reasons for 2 vials and I don't like it at all. They should be able to tell me the truth up front. The Dr.'s office is part of a bigger group, of course.

Yes, I'm 5 miles from Dr. Office. She said they do that with everybody, "just in case". This is not only a waste of time/materials, but ridiculous.
