Vice chair resigns from airport authority

Robert Lewis, the vice chairman of the Allegheny County Airport Authority, has resigned.

Lewis resigned from the board on March 22, according to his resignation letter to Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald has the sole power to appoint members to the nine-person board. In his resignation letter, he told Fitzgerald that he saw a toxic political environment around public service.

Former Missouri sheriff sentenced to 6 months in fed prison

Kentucky high school teacher resigns amid bathroom camera accusation

Boggess was charged with three counts of possession of viewing of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and four counts of voyeurism.

Maryland delegate resigns from black caucus in growing rift over speaker vote

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - An African-American state lawmaker has resigned from the Maryland Legislative Black Caucus, the latest sign of the growing rift within the group over the election of the next speaker of the House of Delegates.

On Friday, Del. Regina Boyce told Del. Darryl Barnes, D-Prince George's, the caucus chair, that she could not attend the meeting and is giving up her membership in the group out of frustration with what she called its emphasis on electing the state's first African-American speaker.

Boyce, a Democratic freshman lawmaker from Baltimore City, accused Barnes in an email of referring to the race and sexual orientation of one of the speaker candidates, Del. Maggie McIntosh, D-Baltimore City, in a closed-door caucus meeting on April 8.

McIntosh, who is white, is the first openly gay lawmaker elected to the Maryland General Assembly. She is competing for the speaker's job against Del. Dereck Davis, D-Prince George's, who is black.
