It's a place that was designed to serve the military. The communities are a result of a Naval base expanding. Seals train there, Corondo Naval Base, Marines, Air Force (top gun was filmed in Diego).
But as someone from there, San Diego that is, Poway is full of good people. Got a stigma for being racist, but I think it's bullshit.
