FISA is a necessary part of a state. The state must be able to obtain information pertinent to the actions of other powers looking to undermine the security and sovereignty of its citizenry.

The FISA court was intended to be a way of preventing abuse of that state power, to ensure that it was only being used in the case of a credible fear/concern. There are laws related to how that information can be used, shared, etc for a reason, as well. There are many people watching these words, possibly even as I type them on my phone via a keylogger installed after I deliberately tripped their sensors. Or, perhaps not. I may never know, and they may never tell.

This is the importance of integrity in our systems. I am not sure if there is a better way to go about it - but there will always be a need for agents of our public body to investigate the actions of those who meet certain criteria, even when they are not a threat. Because you can't go back in time after events occur to investigate how conspiracies to harm us developed. You must do those in real time and it is an inherently sacred role to look in on the nakedness of others.

You don't see people naked. You still think dignity and face can be worn like clothing. You don't see the insanity of people who are just like each other beneath it all trying to use their clothing to wreak havoc on those around them…. But I digress.

When presented with evidence you believe to be accurate and relevant, you sign the warrant. That is how the system works. You don't get to say "Well… I really think the dude in that nice suit is a good fella" and act to protect him. You say "well, that evidence does point to a need to investigate these claims." And you sign the authorization.

Even if the FISA warrant turned out to be fruitless and to not turn up any evidence of wrongdoing - there are laws about who can see that the warrant ever existed and how that information can be used - no one needs to know that the government was poking through your shit for corn kernels. People can be vicious creatures who will then use "where there is smoke, there is fire." Because the mole on the underside of their dick is invisible beneath their clothing, they will take the opportunity to point out how silly your ass looks in that underwear (in your bedroom while you weren't normally visible).

If we are going to play this game, perhaps we should just see everyone naked. All the people pretending to be disgusted by tentacle porn exposed to their mind-break archive, all the people pretending to be morally upstanding shown for every time their eyes lingered on someone's ass. When everyone has their clothing stripped from them and their own behavior and virtues truly exposed to the world - I wonder who it is who will be fleeing into the darkest caves… And who will be shocked to find out they were more normal than they ever could have imagined.

What if this is not the first time?

What if Q team is part of a far older version of this?

Imagine the government came to the large business owners of the era to investigate unusual artifacts or reports of extra-terrestrial activity… Or, hell, even ancient rituals and magic?

What if the program was later cut from public funding?

Why would this be the basis of a story created by a 14 year old boy back in the year 2004, wherein the main plot conflict involves fighting a plot to destroy the world in preparation for the arrival of an alien species in the year 2024-2028 (hadn't actually nailed down an exact arrival date, but the end of the war was set for 2024 and the beginning of it was 2018).

You all think Q is existential. Try being that boy in November of 2017. I am still trying to wrap my head around it, considering things my father said to me as a kid (and he is no longer living to ask). Based on his cultural beliefs and how I was raised - I can't help but see it as the converse of the cabal. Magic (symbolism) and ritual hold power of sorts, and there are sacred, mystical things about this world - but these are not rewards of power over others. Where the cabal likes ivory spires and testaments to their greatness, my family is far more fond of gardens and seeing children into the future.

Dare I suggest that the moon child the cabal tries to create is something that my family believes will occur naturally between a proper husband and wife, or, in the event of some grand cosmic poo-bah, as an event of prophecy, not something evoked by choice - and their little ritual is just their own way of trying to bargain with the universe. I died multiple times during birth and was the first born. Just taunting.

My point is that if you believe there is more to the world than meets the public eye, then you also know that many powerful families outside of the cabal - or just at the fringe of it - were involved with some of the government's most secret programs.

If there was substance to them, do you think the government was really able to put a stop to those people just by putting an end to funding?
