Okay, we get it. There is a shill problem on this board, BUT, do you really think entering captcha each post is going to stop it?
Propose the following test. Randomly select 20 breads over the past month - 10 before the captcha per post and 10 after. Have a couple of BV's count the number of shill posts in each bread and record the number. If the number of shill posts has not decreased by a significant number like 25% (or has actually increased) then put things back the way they were.
The only way to slow shill posting is to start actively banning IP address ranges or start requiring actual accounts for all users who want to post. Those two actions are contrary to the founding principles of this board. So you have two choices - keep the board open and expect the shills or lock things down like Twatter and Facepalm try to do.
Whatever you decide on the second issue, please, at least do the calculations. I believe you will find that the incidence of shill posting is about the same or possibly a bit higher.
