The American idea that Venezuela, and other nations of the earth would achieve their peace on their own without the assistance of foreign intervention is hypocritical and asinine.
The American Revolution was not fought and won on the force of their own strength. We had foreign help. That's the relevance of ties with French, Dutch and others.
So while I'm not advocating interventionism, and imposing our will on other governments, our interests do lie in putting our money where our mouth is in regard to foreign factions, like in Venezuela, by getting behind forces that are on the ground.
That's my two cents.
Their fight is our fight.
