>He just cruised up and announced himself like the Jews were going to say "Oh, ok total stranger who fulfilled none of the prophecies, you can be our most sacred figure for no real reason at all besides you saying so!".
If you can't represent the very simple facts truthfully, you can't be entrusted to discern the meaning of prophecy.
First fact: Jews did believe him. The church was formed in Jerusalem with Jews. It was not until Paul that Gentiles were added in numbers.
Only the Jews who did not believe him, did not believe him... doh. Try reading the New Testament written by the Jews who did accept him.
He did not announce that he was the Messiah. People made the connection on their own because he fulfilled prophecy.
In fact he made a point, between Palm Sunday and Good Friday to first drive a wedge between the religious leaders and the people, and then drive the wedge between the people who welcomed him with palm branches and himself. When he died, even his close followers left him.
That doesn't match very well with your characterization.
Why should anyone believe you? Because You say so? What a hypocrite. People can read the Bible for themselves and see what foolishness you profess.
