LEAK: Dirty Cop Robert Mueller Complained Bill Barr’s “Principal Conclusions” Did Not Capture ‘Context’ of Trump Probe
Dirty cop Robert Mueller complained to Bill Barr in a letter shortly after the attorney general released his summary of the special counsel’s “principal conclusions.”
The letter was followed by a phone call during which Mueller pressed Barr to release executive summaries of his report, according to the Washington Post.
During the phone call, Mueller reportedly complained about the news coverage of the so-called obstruction of justice (that never even happened) claiming it created public misunderstandings about the special counsel’s probe.
Mueller wrote Bill Barr a letter on March 27th, just three days after the attorney general released a 4-page summary to Congress confirming Mueller did not find any evidence Trump conspired with the Kremlin during the 2016 election complaining that Barr “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance” of Mueller’s report, according to a copy of the letter reviewed Tuesday by The Washington Post.
“The summary letter the Department sent to Congress and released to the public late in the afternoon of March 24 did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this office’s work and conclusions,” Mueller wrote. “There is now public confusion about critical aspects of the results of our investigation. This threatens to undermine a central purpose for which the Department appointed the Special Counsel: to assure full public confidence in the outcome of the investigations.”
In his letter, Mueller wrote that the redaction process “need not delay release of the enclosed materials. Release at this time would alleviate the misunderstandings that have arisen and would answer congressional and public questions about the nature and outcome of our investigation.”
Mueller’s letter requested that Bill Barr release the 448-page report’s executive summaries and even suggested some redactions.
WaPo also cited people familiar with the situation (leak) who said Mueller wrote another private letter to the Justice Department, which revealed he was not happy with the public’s discussion of his investigation.
Attorney General Bill Barr is scheduled to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday and the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday about Mueller’s report, so it’s no surprise there are well-timed leaks to the media about his handling of the special counsel’s report.
