I find the Germans have been used/abused for geopolitical gain in a way similar to, let's say the Kurds.
A game of "let's pull a fast one on ~~ Joey ~~ Kurt".
Do that a few times (twice in a century) and one could start seeing some resentment, no?
Trouble for the rest of Europe (and for Germans too in the end) is that it is unfolding a third time in the span of one century.

Yes, I am aware of the broader lines of German history and it's smaller print, as well as of the gaps therein filled by knowledge provided by D. Irving or Gerd-Helmut Komossa (must admit I haven't read his book, I'd like to though).
