I don't know obviously, but I'm of the mind that we choose our parents and map out our lives-to-be to a point, like plan big events, meeting our mates, spouse, major illnesses or what have you. And I think death is a return to the etheric field, a re-union with spirit, to look back and learn from our recent lifetime.
Yeah, too many spoopy stories and anecdotes to dismiss as myth or legend. Plus, you can experience it yourself just by following the words of Jesus in the Bible. Go into a dark closet, make your eye single and your body will fill with light. Jesus was a yogi or lama, trained in mysticism in the far east and created a mix of buddhism and judaism that still exists today.

That's some trippy thought-provoking stuff anon. It's also known that your mind can't tell the difference between a real experience and a vivid daydream. So if you imagine a scenario vividly enough, with enough sensory data(feels, smells, sounds, etc.) your mind thinks it's real and adjusts your reality accordingly.
