When you live your whole life in a sleeping society, it's hard to believe they can wake up. Or that ENOUGH can wake up to make a difference. But there are rare moments when opportunities arise to change things. I think this is one of them. And the fact that you are here makes me think you'll willing to take that chance, too. WRWY. Hang in there, Aussieanon.

Don't worry about it, anon. You're not whining. I got jumped for that already, it's complete BS. There's nothing we shouldn't be able to talk about here–FREE SPEECH ZONE, RIGHT?

Feel for ya, fren, hang in there and don't be afraid to say your peace. Shadilay, o7.

PS–hope you arm heals up soon, our prayers are with you.

Actually, we don't know whether the captcha-per-post policy is permanent or not. Not really. New policy appeared two nights ago out of the blue and wo/any real explanation in Bread #8139. Then BO showed up and posted last night (well, early this am); see >>6379972

Majority anons present expressed a preference for captcha-per-post to be pulled; BO did not respond yes or no but talked about other stuff (mostly his history with various boards because of anon speculations about same).

Those are the bare facts. BO did not say captcha-per-post was permanent or why it had been instituted. For all we know, Q asked for it (one anon had a theory about that in a PB). But this is all conjecture at this point.

Expect that it's good to stick with the facts until we know moar, IMO.

"Found an msnbc reporter!"

I provided an extremely fact-based, well-sauced account of what has happened for the last two days re captcha.

You provide an op-ed piece without any sauce except for your personal say-so. And then you accuse anyone who disagrees of being a shill. GOT ANY SAUCE FOR THAT, ANON??

You tell me: why should anyone give any credence to your opinion when it's based on conjecture alone??

I'm probably addressing a shill but you insulted me personally, so I'm responding.

You're really on the front lines in NZ, anon, glad to have you aboard. (Not late night in NZ, maybe late afternoon?) We're an international FAMILY, anons all over the world all seeking to liberate ourselves and our nations from the scourge of globalism. Blessings, friend, WRWY.

Understand, I'm trying to stay pretty neutral, but I was there, I know what you're saying.

Re Q request idea: Sorry, wish I could remember exactly what anon said, it was interesting. But I can't and am probably not representing it well.

I'm very conservative when it comes to facts vs conjecture due to my prior training. Sorry if it's annoying, just one perspective.

Do not agree.

  1. There have been many different opinions expressed about effect of captchas.

  2. It's only been 2 days, no enough time to make such strong claims about them "improving the quality" of posts. (Also assumes there was some kind of problem with previous quality; do not agree about that).

  3. Many anons do not consider the down side of per-post-captchas "minor."

Hmmm….calling all those who object to captcha are "concern-fags"? Clearly a putdown.

Assuming they are "emotional"? Another putdown.

The Q quote is the best part of the post. But what moar do YOU know that qualifies you to place yourself above other anons?

Bakers are always ready to answer questions, I was surprised. Asked plenty of them, got a lot of info. They will also walk you thru a practice bake or give feedback on Notables. Baking is a challenge but well worth the trouble.

Agree.

Keep wondering whether we're part of some grand social psych experiment ("The Effect of Per-Post-Captchas on Anon Well-being"). Ha-ha-ha.

Lots of questions, no answers or Q comments just yet. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens next. Meanwhile, think I'll put "No more captchas" on my next bucket list…………….
