I took some time to "Study" the deepfake postings on pornhub. At this point, the state of the public art is not very good, they especially fall apart with audio and when the camera moves from a fixed position.

The demonstration videos all use a fixed camera position, head on "interview" shot, and ideal lighting. None of the demo's ever have a second person in them. I don't think the "It's deep faked video" excuse is going to carry much water with the public at large, at least not for the next several years. Finally, I'm just talking about the eyeball test. At some point digital forensic image analysis will go even further in working out how to ID it.

I'm not a video professional in anyway. The video's that have been published as deep fake demonstrations are good, but not good enough to stand up to scrutiny from the general public, let alone a professional analysis.

If the video is grainy security camera footage that you can't quite figure out, well, thats been a problem for years. There is more to authentication than just the video itself. Where did it come from? What was the chain of custody? Is it corroborated by other evidence?

Its a future issue for sure, but I don't think its going to be significant in deflecting legitimate video evidence that has reasonable provenance attached to it right now.

CNN would probably publish a video of Alec Baldwin fucking a Kitten right now and claim it was POTUS. A few people would believe it because they are desperate to confirm their beliefs, but people are still rational when the calm down and decide the truth is important.

We need to pimp this as a general redpill. LV isn't about trump and the anti-trump public doesn't reject it out of hand.

"Calling it a Conspiracy means we should stop asking questions right?"
