i say this with no reservations: Johnny is the hero of the karate kid, and the movie is legitimately about his character arch. They shake hands at the end, there's learning. Johnny and Daniel-San end as friends, united by combat. It went through a very heavy 'Kill the Villain' tiime period in action movies. it's sort of shitty to think about. meh
