The Chief of the capitol police, Matthew Verderosa, is retiring May 31, 2019. Seems notable to me.

I believe the Capitol Police Board is the entity that is responsible for appointing Verderosa's replacement. That board is made up of the Sergeants at Arms of the house and senate plus the architect of the capitol. Those 3 would be Stephen T. Ayers, Michael C. Stenger, and Paul D. Irving.
