Take a look at Catholics, or any other flavor of Christian. Are there both good and bad in the ranks? Of course. If someone wants to believe in whatever faith they have that's fine as long as they are Americans and DO NO HARM.
On the other hand, IF they DO do harm, now we have an issue.
I was raised Catholic but after reading the bible on my own I figured out that something wasn't right. Regardless, any religion is somewhat akin to owning a gun. It is an inanimate object. Individuals are responsible for their own actions not their beliefs. Their beliefs may be a source of motivation, but it is when a person takes ACTION for whatever reason, is the real problem, not their beliefs. Like most things, it can be used for good or bad. It just depends on what each individual DOES that matters.
I don't believe the tenets of Islam, but it isn't up to me to tell someone else what they can believe. As long as they don't cause harm I don't care. You can point out all the bad things with Islam you want, but it really doesn't become a problem until someone actually does something bad. Be careful of painting with that broad brush, it might be turned around and used against you some day.
BTW, I'm not trying to sympathize with Islam, I generally agree that it is a problem, but the problem is more with the actual people who DO things.
Well the early church was basically a few people gathering together in someones home.
I know what it is. It's a form of government. Wouldn't you agree though that not ALL people of that faith are dickheads? Or, do you just group everyone into broad categories and slap labels on them? The bible teaches INDIVIDUAL responsibility. Leftists are the ones who tend to group everyone into big baskets. You know, like racist, Nazi etc.
And so now the ad homenims start. Sorry, it's not my job to TELL people how or what to believe. I personally believe in freedom of religion and God given natural rights. My job is to spread the good news of the gospel. I don't seem to recall Jesus saying anything about treating others as you would have them treat you….EXCEPT for Muslims or any other label you want to use.
