Of course not! It's a great idea, it should be the only choice, especially for a born again Christian. But the key here is to know that you can't gain redemption, justification, righteousness, etc, be saved, etc, by your good works. It is by your believing on Jesus Christ!
Jesus Christ is seated at the right hand of God making intercession for all born again ones!
