WASHINGTON — Prominent American anti-war figures from across the ideological spectrum are warning that the Trump administration may soon turn on Juan Guaidó — the man they recognize as Venezuela’s interim president — in order to justify military intervention in Venezuela.

These warnings followed Guaidó’s failed attempt to lead a military uprising on Tuesday, which analysts characterized as a desperate move, with Guaidó’s parallel government having failed to gain any significant traction in Venezuela since late January. With Guaidó now quickly losing legitimacy and momentum since Tuesday’s failed coup, it has become increasingly probable that his political patrons — the United States — may soon turn on him, as any harm done to him could be blamed on Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro, which would allow the U.S. government to justify aggressive action against the Maduro-led government.

One of the first prominent anti-war voices to raise concern that the U.S. government, particularly the CIA, may now see Guaidó as more valuable dead than alive was Daniel McAdams, executive director of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity and co-host of the Ron Paul Liberty Report, with the former congressman, presidential candidate and well-known libertarian. During Tuesday’s edition of the Liberty Report, Paul raised concern that a provocation could be used to push for foreign (i.e., U.S.) military intervention in Venezuela:

The big danger is a hard war breaking out. I’d still bet it won’t be too bad, with thousands of troops moving. But it could be a guerrilla war or something like that. If there is a false flag or some important official on either side gets killed, you can’t tell what might happen.”

McAdams responded, pointing out that Guaidó himself could soon become such a target for a provocation:

He [Guaidó] has been a kind of a hapless figure so far. He calls for mass protests and no one shows up. I don’t think he realizes right now that he is actually now worth more dead than alive not only to the CIA, but also to his own opposition people. A shot in the crowd or something like that to take Guaidó out. It might shock you, Dr. Paul, but the CIA is pretty good at this kind of things.”

Federal Judge Sides With Federal Government, Rules Mass Surveillance Can Remain Secret

Despite a wealth of public information detailing the U.S. government’s secret warrantless mass surveillance programs, a federal judge has blocked a lawsuit, claiming that revealing any details would threaten national security.

A federal judge has ruled that the federal government can assert state secrets privilege to keep details of the warrantless mass surveillance programs secret. The ruling from U.S. District Judge Jeffery White brings an end to a legal battle that has lasted more than ten years as five Americans sought to reveal the full scope of the controversial spying program. The plaintiffs have been represented by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) since 2008—several years before whistleblower Edward Snowden leaked classified files revealing the NSA’s massive spying apparatus.

Judge White agreed with arguments made by the Department of Justice, namely that revealing any details about whether the government collected the five plaintiffs’ internet and phone data would threaten national security. The judge refused to comment on whether previous reports on government surveillance confirmed that the U.S. government spied on Americans. The judge also stated that the evidence submitted by the plaintiffs did not support claims that the National Security Agency violated the Wiretap Act and the Electronic Communications Privacy Act.

Agreement reached on Lavrov-Pompeo meeting in Finland, says senior diplomat

Russian Foreign Minister and US Secretary of State spoke over the phone on numerous occasions, but their full-fledged negotiations were held only once

Feds Seek Permanent Renewal Of NSA Phone Surveillance Law

The Trump administration has signaled in recent weeks that it may seek the permanent renewal of a surveillance law that has, among other things, enabled the National Security Agency to gather and analyze Americans' phone records as part of terrorism investigations, according to five U.S. officials familiar with the matter.

The White House, these officials said, was prepared to issue a public statement calling on Congress to reauthorize in full Section 215 of the Patriot Act, which in the past has been the focus of heated debate over the acceptable bounds of government surveillance. The plan to issue a statement was put on hold, officials said, but it illustrates nonetheless where the administration stands on the contested issue of national security authority.

Section 215 was last revised in 2015 as part of the USA Freedom Act after a former NSA contractor, Edward Snowden, exposed how the government was collecting vast quantities of Americans' phone logs to be able to scan them for clues to terrorist plots. This "metadata" denoted the calls' time, date and duration, and who called whom, but did not include the conversations' content. The ensuing uproar led Congress to impose restraints, and last year, the NSA reportedly suspended the program because of technical issues that put Americans' privacy at risk.

Dad was a master welder by trade and a member of the Teamsters union. I still have his union pin. More importantly, he was a jailhouse preacher and prison chaplain. Neo-Nazi Arrested For Threatening To Kill Don Jr., Jared Kushner & Ben Shapiro

A raging anti-semite who was stockpiling tactical weaponry and Nazi paraphernalia has been arrested for sending death threats to Jared Kushner, Donald Trump Jr. and Ben Shapiro, TMZ reports.

Barely a week after a deranged 19-year-old shot up a synagogue in Poway, Calif., claiming the Christchurch Shooter as his inspiration, Chase Bliss Colasurdo was arrested Wednesday in Washington State after the FBI and Secret Service uncovered multiple death threats against Trump's family members.

Authorities were acting on a tip filed in March alerting them to Colasurdo's threatening social media posts, where he apparently targeted Kushner and Trump Jr. by name. In case his intentions hadn't been made clear enough, he also sent emails to 5 different media outlets warning of his plans: "I'm going to personally Execute [Kushner] for his countless treasonous crimes," according to TMZ.

Colasurdo then proceeded to taunt law enforcement, posting a photo on Instagram of himself holding a gun with the caption: "I made a death threat against [Kushner] yesterday and I have not been arrested yet."

As if that weren't enough, Colasurdo posted a photo of Donald Trump Jr. with the caption: "I would just like to let the secret service know that I am going to Execute this fa***t."

When FBI and Secret Service agents visited Colasurdo at his home in March, he claimed he'd been hacked, but also told agents that he had been diagnosed with mental health issues.

Still, his online death rants continued. The very next week, Colasurdo posted a photo of himself holding a handgun with the caption: "It's Time To Start Bombing Synagogues," and later referenced the Poway bombing.

In April, the FBI discovered that Colasurdo had been loading up on ammunition, weapons and kevlar armor, which set off alarm bells and led to a raid that resulted n Colasurdo's arrest. During the raid, agents discovered an expansive arsenal, Nazi flags and Hitler memorabilia.

It was later reported that Colasurdo also made death threats against conservative writer Ben Shapiro and his family.

NASA Prepares For “The God Of Chaos” Asteroid To Arrive

NASA is already beginning preparations for the arrival of the asteroid called “The God of Chaos.” The asteroid is said to be approaching Earth and will come close to our planet in 2029.

The asteroid’s official name is 99942 Apophis. It is a 1,110-foot-wide asteroid named after the Egyptian god of chaos. It will fly as close to the Earth as some of the orbiting spacecraft panicking scientists.

99942 Apophis will come within 19,000 miles of Earth on April 13, a decade from now, but scientists at the Planetary Defense Conference are already preparing for the encounter, Newsweek reported. They plan to discuss the asteroid’s effects on Earth’s gravity, potential research opportunities and even how to deflect an incoming asteroid in a theoretical scenario.

The asteroid will be visible to the naked eye and will look like a moving star point of light, according to NASA. It will pass over the United States in the early evening, according to WUSA 9. 99942 Apophis was discovered in 2004 and, after tracking it for 15 years, scientists say the asteroid has a 1 in 100,000 chance of striking Earth decades in the future. But in the fairly distant future: after 2060, Newsweek reported.

Asteroid preparation has become quite a hobby for NASA.

NASA is going to be using a simulation of an “asteroid apocalypse” in order to help the space agency prepare for the cataclysmic event. And they are taking it seriously, as disaster planners from FEMA will join NASA for a dress rehearsal of doomsday.

International partners, including the European Space Agency (ESA), will also be a part of the simulation. The drill is said to be a “tabletop exercise” that will simulate just how a planetary asteroid emergency would play out in real time. Although an emergency on this scale has never happened, and factors such as the location of impact will have a massive effect on the response to such a globally catastrophic event.

According to the Metro UK, disaster planners from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will join with NASA to hold a “make-believe apocalypse” intended to “inform involved players of important aspects of a possible disaster and identify issues for accomplishing a successful response.” The scenario will begin with the fictional premise that on March 26, astronomers “discovered” a near-Earth object (a comet or asteroid which comes within 30 million miles of Earth and one they consider potentially hazardous to Earth), NASA wrote. -SHTFPlan

He is/was Edgar Miles Bronfman, father of Clare Bronfman, former president and CEO of his family’s distilled beverage firm, Seagram and former president of the World Jewish Congress.

He died, at age 84, on December 21, 2013.

Bronfman was a billionaire and before and after he died, he left Clare money. I estimate it to be about $400 million. Clare squandered much of that on her Vanguard, Keith Alan Raniere, over the 15 years she was his enabler, henchwoman, clown and dupe.

She is believed to have a net worth now of about $200 million.

Her father, Edgar was married five times (twice to his third wife, Clare’s mother.) He had five children with his first wife, Ann Margaret Loeb: They are Samuel, Edgar Jr., Matthew, Holly and Adam Bronfman.

Just Business: Brazil Cuts Flow of Money to Venezuela

The agreement to print money for Venezuela was not brokered directly between Venezuela and Brazil's respective mints, but rather subcontracted via an unnamed multinational company.

The Brazilian state-owned mint, the Casa da Moeda do Brasil, has recently stopped printing Venezuelan bolivar banknotes, the national currency of the neighboring country, the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper reports.

The newspaper notes that the money-printing contract was signed in 2018 and expired in March this year, with Brazil’s mint revealing that the agreement was not made directly with Caracas but rather via a subcontract by an undisclosed "multinational company".

The Brazilian mint also expressed its desire to expand its operations overseas as several Latin American and African country already make use of its services, the newspaper adds.

Brazil, along with a number of other Latin American states, has joined the United States in supporting the efforts of Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido, who proclaimed himself the country’s interim president in January, and since then, made repeated attempts to oust Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro.

Guaido’s efforts culminated in a failed coup attempt on 30 April when he gathered his supporters in Caracas in front of the La Carlota military base, announcing that the so-called "Operation Freedom" campaign to oust the legitimate government had started its "final phase," and called on the military to turn against Maduro.

This move was criticised by Brazilian Vice President Hamilton Mourao, who described it as premature and expressed concern about the possibility of a civil war erupting in Venezuela.

New law will allow Oregon dentists to vaccinate patients

PORTLAND, Ore. — A new bill that would allow dentists to administer vaccinations just passed the Oregon Legislature.

Next year, Oregon dentists will be allowed to give their patients immunization shots. House Bill 2220 will allow dentists to give any vaccinations – from measles to HPV and annual flu shots.

Gov. Kate Brown is expected to sign the bill into law in the next day or two. The law passed with a nearly unanimous vote.

Oregon health officials have been working on this since before the recent nationwide measles outbreak. Dentists have gradually been providing health care screening to their patients well beyond the 32 teeth most of us have in our mouths.

This law expands that and will allow dentists to be able to give both children and adults vaccines. Other states allow dentists to give flu shots, but not all vaccinations.

"This is not anything more than an access bill. Provide access for patients who want to get vaccines, to get them," said Phillip Marucha, dean of dentistry at Oregon Health & Science University.

Marucha spearheaded the creation of the bill, along with the Oregon Dental Association.

Two weeks from now, the group will meet with the Oregon Board of Dentistry to start establishing training rules and protocols for dentists.

Dr. Jason Bajuscak of City Dental said he’s eager to provide this service to his 1,600 patients at his downtown clinic.

"Dentists have a unique, already established relationship, oftentimes, with their patients. We’re pretty integral with primary care," Bajuscak said. "This is another great service that we can provide for them."

Health care providers have known for decades that good oral health often translates to good health in general.

Only licensed dentists will be authorized to administer vaccines after a certification process. The Oregon Health Authority will also work with dentists to adopt rules to help them file the vaccination reports into the state immunizations registry.

The letter is signed by Snowden’s lawyer in Switzerland, Marcel Bosonnet, as well as human right’s attorney Philip Stolkin, Bernard Rambert, Swiss Congressman Carlo Sommaruga, and Andreas Noll.

Their demand was initially broadcast on in prime time on national television, but they are not stopping there. Their appeal also ran in major newspapers for World Press Freedom Day on Friday.

BREAKING: Over 80 People Arrested in Giant, Multi-State Child Sexual Exploitation Sting

At least 82 people have been arrested in a large multi-state child exploitation sting that spanned across eight different states.

The sting, dubbed Operation Southern Impact III, spanned four months and eight southern states from Florida to West Virginia. All of the men and women arrested are accused of either possessing child pornography or attempting to have sex with a child.

31 people were arrested in Georgia alone, including a county employee, a fireman, a youth group minister, a former high school band director, and a military veteran, among others.
