Grain prices are disconnected from reality right now. Very little grain is being planted as it is too wet. It will take a miracle to have anything approaching a normal harvest later this year. But grain prices are extremely low and falling. And falling. Commodity prices are all fake, but that doesn't mean prices at the grocery won't go up! Can't wait for the day when things get back to real again.

It should work that way, but we will see. Apparently the only demand /sarcasm/ for soybeans is to feed hogs in China, and all their hogs have been slaughtered due to disease. There is no explaining the price of corn. Or wheat. It's just suppressed. Traders making money and hitting at Trump.

Current commodity prices are low beyond normal fluctuation. If it doesn't change, it will break a lot of farmers, who have re-worked their (short-sightedly) over-leveraged situations to the max. Business plans were based on $10-$15 beans. Now they're talking $6 beans. Very precarious without the weather situation. It hasn't been like this in decades.
