Radioactive materials found at Bay Area home of scientist who recently died
Redwood City Fire Chief Stan Maupin identified the materials as cobalt 57 and radium 286, according to the Mercury News, saying firefighters were “100% confident” that the materials were contained to the shed and posed no danger.

Update: Engineering student who died at Stanford identified
UPDATE, Feb. 15 — A Stanford graduate student who died by suicide in an engineering lab has been identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office as Ziwen “Jerry” Wang, 26.
The medical examiner said Feb. 14 that Wang died by hanging himself.

Broadway actor found hanging from Central Park archway in apparent suicide
A 45-year-old Broadway actor who performed in “Phantom of the Opera” and “War Horse” was found hanging from a Central Park archway in an apparent suicide, officials said Friday.
Cops found a note on Harlan Bengel directing whoever found him to call a specific person at a given number, a source with knowledge of the case said. Police did not disclose the name of the contact.
