Just so you know, most Masons are not terribly committed to Masonry. Most Masons get initiated, look around the lodge, and say, "The old-timers are all just marking time so that they can add lots of official positions to their Masonic resumes. I guess I can mentally check out."

The Blue Lodge makes a huge effort to recruit lots of new members but does not make much effort to live up to the avowed ideals of Masonry. Thus most Masons get initiated and quickly become skeptical of all aspects of Masonic rhetoric.

> turned upside down by the peace movement. As Satanists do, they turn what was good in its origin into evil.

It seems likely that the hippie "peace sign" was derived from a signal alphabet from the letters "n" and "d" for "nuclear disarmament."

> you have to favor members of the club over non-members.

Not really. Many Masonic lodges don't keep in touch with members who simply stop paying dues.

> Get a demit.

Most Masons just stop paying membership fees rather than figuring out what the heck a "demit" is.
