every day the Sri Lanka attacks look more and more like a FF

Authorities ignored multiple warnings on pending attacks.

Weeks before coordinated bombings ripped through churches and luxury hotels – killing nearly 300 people on Easter Sunday – authorities in Sri Lanka received warnings a domestic radical Muslim group would attack the nation on the Christian holy day.

Despite multiple warnings from international intelligence agencies, however, Sri Lanka’s security officials reportedly failed to heed the alerts and apparently took no action to protect against a potential attack. Authorities were first alerted to the threat April 4.

Goal?

Citizen disarmament

buying a firearm is already next to impossible

Sri Lanka does not issue license for bearing firearms, unless one can prove that it is absolutely necessary for them to posses a firearm.

Should you think you have such a need, contact your Dis Sec to obtain an application to request a license to posses a firearm. You have to submit the application to the Dis Sec with the required documentation, including but not limited to, following.

Grama Niladhari Report.

Police Report.

Recommendation from the Divisional Secretary.

Once you submit these along with the application to the Dis Sec, the District Secretary will attach their recommendation or disapproval letter, and forward the application the the Ministry of Defence (MoD).

The MoD will consider your application and would almost certainly reject it, unless you make absolutely strong arguments on why you should be allowed to bear a fire arm.

Now they are requesting their citizens who had nothing to do with the attacks or the failure of the government to protect the people to turn in large knives, swords and camouflage clothing to local police.

"Hundreds of weapons have been seized in searches since the 21 April attacks

Sri Lankan authorities have called on the public to surrender swords and large knives amid heightened security concerns following the deadly Easter Sunday attacks.

Police said knives used for legal everyday activities should not be included in the handover this weekend.

Hundreds of weapons have been seized in searches since the 21 April attacks.

More than 250 people were killed in the coordinated suicide bombings, which targeted churches and luxury hotels.

In addition to weapons, police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara called on people in possession of "police or camouflaged military uniforms" to hand them in to their nearest police station on Saturday or Sunday. "
