Imagine a long-standing loathsome cabal that establishes spy apparatuses for economic espionage down throught the ages, a recent iteration being "intelligence" agencies. Imagine this cabal stealing everything in sight, while grinding its victims under its heel, using various agencies, institutions, and downright bodily harm, to keep the rest of the population living in terror.
