Not to say or imply that I endorse your entire premise about religion(s) in that regard, but I would put forth a similar take although be it with different verbiage.

The 'Natural Order of the Universe' to which you elude could also be viewed as boiling down to two different camps and belief systems.

The first being Service to Others wherein a person operates with love and makes decisions based on what is good for Everybody, especially his fellow man.

The second being Service to Self wherein a person operates selfishly and makes decisions based on what is good for HIMSELF, in spite of it being at the expense of his fellow man.

Although not literally spelled out as such in the Bible, there are beyond numerous examples contained therein.

The Law of One does expand on this concept in Great Detail, and does so without contradicting anything in the Bible. It is a good read for these times by anyone not familiar with it.

This is a long standing response in such a debate.

Making people around you happy for your own benefit is NOT the same thing as acting in such a way as to attain that end without doing at THEIR expense.

The focus of the difference there is that the PRIMARY concern is for the OTHER self, and not YOUR self.

Your example sites PRIMARY concern for ONES self with a secondary concern for the OTHER self.

My intended premise is PRIMARY focus on the OTHER self will yield (directly or otherwise) the Secondary result of being beneficial for ONES self.
