Snapped: UK govt docs on Williamson reveal he remains on Privy Council, entrusted to keep secrets

Former UK Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson, who was fired for allegedly leaking information from the national security council, appears to have retained his role on the exclusive Privy Council, where he must keep secrets.

The parliamentary private secretary of Deputy Prime Minister David Lidington has been pictured holding what appears to be a government document outlining the current status of Williamson, and his retained privileges.

The document reveals that the gaffe-prone politician will remain a Privy Council member, despite being dismissed from the cabinet by May on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister asked Gavin Williamson to leave Government, having lost confidence in his ability to serve in the role of Defence Secretary and as a member of her Cabinet. This does not affect his Privy Council status.

Peter Strzok Suspected CIA Was Behind Inaccurate Media Leaks

Peter Strzok suspected CIA employees were behind inaccurate leaks to the press regarding possible Trump campaign contacts with Russia, according to an email the former FBI counterintelligence official sent to colleagues in April 2017.

“I’m beginning to think the agency got info a lot earlier than we thought and hasn’t shared it completely with us. Might explain all these weird/seemingly incorrect leads all these media folks have. Would also highlight agency as source of some of the leaks,” Strzok wrote in an email to FBI colleagues on April 13, 2017.

The email is highlighted in a letter that two Republican senators sent Monday to Michael K. Atkinson, the inspector general of the intelligence community.

In the letter, Sens. Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin asked Atkinson if he has investigated whether the CIA or other intelligence community agencies leaked information to the press.

They pointed to a Dec. 15, 2016 text message that Strzok, the lead investigator on the Trump-Russia probe, sent to then-FBI attorney Lisa Page.

“Think our sisters have begun leaking like mad. Scorned and worried and political, they’re kicking in to overdrive,” Strzok wrote Page.

Strzok did not identify a specific leak, but a day earlier, NBC News broke a bombshell story that Russian President Vladimir Putin was personally involved in the U.S. election hacks. The story was sourced to “senior U.S. intelligence officials.

Malik Obama Reveals New Information About Half-Brother Barack in Interview, Explains Why He Supports Trump

Malik Obama, the older half-brother of Barack Obama, recently sat down for a two-and-a-half-hour interview on “The Hidden Truth Show with Jim Breslo.” During this interview, which aired today, Malik revealed some new details about his half-brother, former president Barack Obama, and how their relationship deteriorated over the years, having gone from being the best man at each other’s weddings to now no longer being on speaking terms.

Malik Obama explained in the interview that when he fell on hard times, he asked to stay with his brother and his family for a brief period, but Michelle Obama was against it. The worst thing about this story is that Barack didn’t offer Malik any other kind of assistance, and never reached out later to make sure Malik was okay.

After Obama won the 2008 election, he did invite Malik and his family to his inauguration but was not invited to the second after they had a falling out regarding Malik starting the Barack H. Obama Foundation, named for Barack Obama Sr. “He said if I don’t shut it down, he is going to cut me off. This was an opportunity to do something. If he were to be a part of it, it would not be an issue. It is my father’s foundation. He is a narcissist. He feels like he is only one.” Malik also said that Barack Obama Sr. was never a goat-herder, as Obama claimed in his book Dreams from my Father and numerous other times in speeches.

Despite their falling out, Malik Obama still hopes for reconciliation. “I don’t hate my brother. I love him. If we could get to reconcile, I would love to reconcile with him. I am just speaking from my heart,” he said, but he’s also critical of his wealthy brother for turning his back on his family. “He talks about being ‘my brother’s keeper’ but his own brother is struggling in the slums. His own aunt in Boston is struggling. Is that something you can sincerely say he is for real in what he is trying to do? He should have helped her. She is his aunt, his father’s sister. I feel that family is family.”

Barack Obama has an annual pension of over $200,000 a year, he and Michelle Obama got a book deal with Penguin Random House worth over $65 million, and they have a $50 million Netflix deal. “He could have invited me for dinner. In eight years [as president] he never invited me for dinner,” Malik Obama said.

Barack Obama’s turned his back on his brother and his family again when two of Malik’s children, Barack’s niece and nephew, died while waiting for approval to come to the United States from Kenya. Barack Obama had been aware they were both sick, but refused to help. “That’s why, for me, with all of those illegal immigrants thinking they have a right to be here, and I have been following all of the official channels, it's not right,” Malik said. According to his story, Barack told him to go to the American embassy. “I said, ‘I can’t just go to the embassy and say you are my brother. If there is a way as the president, legal, not illegal, if you could, help me out.’ And I asked for him to help his half-brother George come here. What really breaks my heart is that my two eldest children died in 2013 and 2014. I had their papers submitted. But I could not get them over here. They died and not even a word of condolence (from Obama). Nothing.”

Malik Obama says that his issues with his brother contributed to his support of Donald Trump. “My support for Trump has a lot to do with my problems with Barack. If he says he is ‘my brother’s keeper’ but this is how he treats his family. That is hypocrisy. If he is going to do all these good things for people but he cannot help out his family, what kind of person is that? He is saying one thing and doing another. He is portraying one image publicly, but privately it is a different thing.”

Despite all that has happened between them, Malik still hopes to reconcile with his brother. “He ought to know how to promote peace with me. He knows how to reach me. I cannot reach him. I am ready to reconcile. We should be together as a family. I hope he does not forget how it used to be.”

China Has Military Programs to Warp Foreign Perceptions, Says Pentagon Report

The Chinese regime is using influence operations in the United States to alter decisions on business and politics, and to warp public perceptions. According to a new Pentagon report, China does this to “achieve outcomes favorable to its security and military strategy objectives.”

The 2019 annual report to Congress from the Department of Defense was released on May 2, and has a special section on the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) influence operations. Although the section constitutes only 2 pages of the 136-page document, it gives a general overview of the types of operations the CCP is running to alter public perception, and explains how government and military agencies are involved.

It begins with a brief overview of the CCP’s Three Warfares strategy, which has been in military operation since at least 2003. The Three Warfares are psychological warfare to alter the way a target interprets information, public opinion warfare (also referred to as “media warfare”) to control information released to the public, and legal warfare to manipulate international and domestic law.

According to the report, the CCP uses the Three Warfares strategy alongside its cyber and military operations. It says the Chinese military “likely seeks to use online influence activities” to support its Three Warfares strategy, “and to undermine an adversary’s resolve in a contingency or conflict.”

Alongside the Three Warfares strategy for its military, it notes the CCP has programs to influence news outlets, businesses, academics, and circles that make political policy in the United States.

It says, “China conducts influence operations against cultural institutions, media organizations, and the business, academic, and policy communities of the United States, other countries, and international institutions …” The purpose of these programs is to “achieve outcomes favorable to its security and military strategy objectives.”

CARACAS, VENEZUELA — As the political crisis in Venezuela has unfolded, much has been said about the Trump administration’s clear interest in the privatization and exploitation of Venezuela’s oil reserves, the largest in the world, by American oil giants like Chevron and ExxonMobil.

Yet the influence of another notorious American company, Monsanto — now a subsidiary of Bayer — has gone largely unmentioned.

While numerous other Latin American nations have become a “free for all” for the biotech company and its affiliates, Venezuela has been one of the few countries to fight Monsanto and other international agrochemical giants and win. However, since that victory — which was won under Chavista rule — the U.S.-backed Venezuelan opposition has been working to undo it.

Now, with Juan Guaidó’s parallel government attempting to take power with the backing of the U.S., it is telling that the top political donors of those in the U.S. most fervently pushing regime change in Venezuela have close ties to Monsanto and major financial stakes in Bayer.

In recent months, Monsanto’s most controversial and notorious product — the pesticide glyphosate, branded as Roundup, and linked to cancer in recent U.S. court rulings — has threatened Bayer’s financial future as never before, with a litany of new court cases barking at Bayer’s door. It appears that many of the forces in the U.S. now seeking to overthrow the Venezuelan government are hoping that a new Guaidó-led government will provide Bayer with a fresh, much-needed market for its agrochemicals and transgenic seeds, particularly those products that now face bans in countries all over the world, including once-defoliated and still-poisoned Vietnam.

Biden mistakenly claims Margaret Thatcher, who died in 2013, is worried about Trump

Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden reportedly had to correct himself over the weekend after telling donors Margaret Thatcher is concerned about the United States under President Trump.

Thatcher, the former prime minister of Britain, died in 2013 – nearly two years before Trump launched his first campaign for president.

According to Bloomberg News, Biden eventually corrected himself, explaining to the donors he meant to say British Prime Minister Theresa May instead of Thatcher, blaming the mix-up on a “Freudian slip.”

Biden’s confusing comments came Saturday during a closed-door fundraiser in Columbia, South Carolina. He listed Thatcher as one of 14 heads of state who he claimed have voiced concerns to him about Trump, the outlet reported.

May has been prime minister since 2016. Thatcher resigned as prime minister in 1990.

During his fundraiser swing in South Carolina, Biden also took a page out of Trump’s playbook on Saturday when asked if he had a nickname for the president. Biden reportedly said he didn’t want to get down in the mud with Trump, but if he had to choose a moniker for the current White House occupant it would be a “clown.”

“There’s so many nicknames I’m inclined to give this guy,” Biden said, according to Politico. “You can just start with clown.”
