Local attorney turns up in the Mueller report
Jason Fishbein
A Palm Beach Gardens attorney has a brief mention in the widely known Mueller Report on Russian interference in the 2016 election.
"I was actually out of the country and they called me on my cell phone,” Jason Fishbein says when recalling how federal investigators first contacted him.
Fishbein says he had done legal work for Wiki Leaks and Julian Assange back in 2016 and believes that’s what led to the interest in him.
He talked about how his name popped up with Trump supporters and campaign staffers, Roger Stone and Steve Bannon.
“In October of 2016 Mr. Stone and Mr. Bannon corresponded by email in which Mr. Stone mentioned my name to Mr. Bannon. I don't know how he got my name but I think once that happened there were certainly some eyes on me,” Fishbein says.
Fishbein says he spent about 6 hours talking with investigators in two sessions in Washington, DC last year.
He says he believes his information helped close up some concerns of investigators.
“My main concern was just being forthright and accurate,” Fishbein says.
