By doing what he did today, POTUS effectively stopped Dems from having a private copy of the declassified materials.

What that would lead to is an unlimited number of closed-door hearings, where they would talk about the material, and the public likely would never ever know the details of what's in there.

What POTUS did today opens the door for him to publicly DECLAS the ''good stuff'' so the public can also view it.

The House gets the docs and so do we.

Had Dems got their way today, the public probably would never see the info, and we'd have to rely on MSM's coverage to get our info (hopefully in that hypothetical situation, there would be leaks on the Republican side, but we don't want leaks. That's illegal. We want it all, legitimately.)
