Police say that they have found a second, unexploded IED near a Denny’s in Fullerton, California.

The original explosion left one man injured as he tried to carry the explosive device outside the restaurant. The second IED was found nearby, but did not explode.

Several nearby businesses were evacuated and the Orange County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad was called to the scene. The businesses have since gone back into normal operations.

Aide to Dem rep charged with soliciting underage prostitute

A longtime aide to Rep. Anthony Brindisi (D-N.Y.) was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for soliciting a prostitute Friday.

New York State Police announced the arrest of John Stemen, 57, following an investigation involving a 17-year-old whom he admitted to paying $200 for a “sexual date.” Police said Stemen met the girl online.

“As soon as we were made aware of the charges, John Stemen was immediately terminated from his position,” Brindisi’s office said in a statement to The Hill.

New York State Assembly records reviewed by the Times Union show that Stemen worked for Brindisi in the state house since at least 2012 and joined his district office staff when Brindisi was elected to Congress in November.

Brindisi’s office did not immediately respond to an inquiry as to how long Stemen has worked for Brindisi.

Stemen is scheduled to appear in Utica City Court on May 20.
