those are pretty cool, tascam made a few of those also, never used the zoom before though, looks like a 24 bit digital audio recorder, with proper placement, you get professional audio recording of concerts and such,

have some friends around a kitchen table playing music real well, it makes a recording quality of is it live or is it memorex

a tip, for mic placement, plug one ear and listen as you move around the room, when it sounds best, that is exactly where the mic goes,and your recording will sound just like you heard,

the reason you believe that, is from the school indoctrination of ships disappearing, but you never questioned the lighthouse seen at 50+ miles away, you never put the 2 together, as you never were taught the curvature math and researched is the earth was a globe, could you see that lighthouse? or the statue of liberty seen at times from 60 miles away out at sea when the weather conditions are right
