Unfortunately, this is not the case for many adult survivors of childhood trauma who never made progress with or may have never sought cognitive behavioral therapy. As a spouseanon who has had to protect his children for much of their first two decades I can assure you that while many people understand the truth of the above, actually coming to grips with that truth is a whole different matter. Thank your lucky stars if you either don't understand or agree with what I say. That just means you haven't been up close to personality disordered adult.
