OT is the code for NT. God's metaphors are defined in the poetry couplets. For instance,

heaven and earth = compound metaphor for the covenant between God & Israel - the Mosaic covenant. Jews understood "heaven and earth" as a reference to the temple in Jerusalem.

Now read Matt. 24:35, "Heaven and earth [the temple] shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.." and….Heaven and earth [the Mosaic covenant] shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away."

Jews used phrases for the feast days that we do not get by just reading an English translation. "No one knows the day or the hour…" was used by the Jews for the Feast of Trumpets" on the 1st of Tishri. Let's see…

Matt. 24:36, "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." & His disciples knew immediately that Christ was telling them the time would be the Feast of Trumpets…..and according to Josephus, the temple was completely torn down, razed by the Romans by the 1st of Tishri, AD 70.
