Made me think of this film: Girl Interrupted, filmed in 1999. Girl put in mental institution. Meets sociopath played by Angelina Jolie, who wins Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress. Themes: mental illness, pedophilia, incest, self harm, suicide, etc. Note the cabal one eye in the poster.
