On MSNBC the guests (always hardcore based liberals) are asked questions they cannot truly answer and when the reporter (less liberal believe it or not than the guest) asks a dumb question (to us) that throws them off. They both join in to panic the narrative back on track like bumbling morans. Then after a few unsettling seconds of airtime the subject changes.
This is a measure of failure and panic.
