21 EU Heads of State Sign ‘Stronger Europe’ Manifesto Demanding More EU Integration

21 heads of state of various European Union member-states have signed a new manifesto arguing for more integration in the political bloc and a “stronger Europe” — interpreted as a response to the rise of eurosceptic, pro-sovereignty populist parties.

Among the signatories, according to Italian newspaper Il Giornale, are several monarchs such as those of Sweden, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Denmark, as well as many presidents, including Italian president Sergio Mattarella.

“European integration has contributed to realising the centuries-old hope of having peace in Europe after unbridled nationalism and other extreme ideologies have brought Europe to the barbarism of two world wars,” the manifesto claims.

“The 2019 elections are particularly important: it is you, the European citizens, who will choose which path the European Union will follow,” the signatories note, adding: “Europe is able to accommodate a very wide range of opinions and ideas. But there must absolutely be no return to a Europe where countries are no longer equal partners, but adversaries.”

The heads of state also argue that the European Union must be strengthened, saying the political bloc must be, “A Union that has common institutions, a Union that constantly reviews its work with a critical eye and is able to reform itself, a Union that is built on its citizens and its Member States as a vital base.”

The manifesto is seemingly the latest attack by establishment figures on the rising populist movement in Europe. The European Commission, particularly its unelected president, Jean-Claude Juncker, have also attacked populists, including threatening to block them from Commission positions regardless of the election outcome later this month.

Last month, the European Union’s own election predictions showed a massive expected surge for the populists and other conservative eurosceptics to the point where they could become the second largest political force in the European Parliament.

California Was Ready to Punish This Synagogue Shooter for Murder. The Feds Want to Make Sure He Is Also Punished for Hating Jews.

Yesterday federal prosecutors in California announced that they are charging John T. Earnest, the alleged perpetrator of last month's shooting at a synagogue near San Diego, with 108 hate crimes in connection with that attack, which killed one person and injured three others. The 19-year-old Rancho Peñasquitos resident already faced murder and attempted murder charges under state law, but the Justice Department wants to make sure he also gets punished for his anti-Semitism.

The 108 charges include "obstruction of free exercise of religious beliefs using a dangerous weapon" and "hate crimes in relation to the shooting in violation of the Mathew Shepard and James Byrd Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act." The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of California is alleging one count of each for each of the 54 people who were in the synagogue at the time of the attack. The FBI says Earnest also admitted setting fire to an Escondido mosque in March, which led to a 109th charge, for "damage to religious property by use of fire."

The federal charges, which can be punished by life in prison or the death penalty, make it more likely that Earnest will be executed for his crimes. He might be eligible for the death penalty under California law as well, but Gov. Gavin Newsom recently imposed a moratorium on executions in that state.

As with Charleston mass murderer Dylann Roof, Charlottesville killer James Fields, and Pittsburgh shooter Robert Bowers, the evidence against Earnest will include the opinions he expressed before the attack. "After the shooting," the DOJ press releasesays, "law enforcement investigators found a manifesto online bearing Earnest's name. A copy of the manifesto was later found on Earnest's laptop during the execution of a search warrant. In the manifesto, Earnest made many anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim statements. Specifically, Earnest referred to 'Jews' as a race, and he stated his only regret was that he did not kill more people."

If Earnest had not written his anti-Semitic and anti-Muslim manifesto, it would be harder for prosecutors to prove that he targeted his victims because of their religion. Without that element, the federal hate crime charges would not apply, meaning he would be punished only under state law, probably by life in prison rather than the death penalty. It is therefore not far-fetched to say the manifesto could be the difference between life and death for Earnest, in which case he would effectively be punished for his abhorrent beliefs as well as his appalling actions.

How Accurate Are the US Jobs Numbers?

The recently released report on April jobs on first appearance, heavily reported by the media, shows a record low 3.6% unemployment rate and another month of 263,000 new jobs created. But there are two official US Labor dept. jobs reports, and the second shows a jobs market much weaker than the selective, ‘cherry picked’ indicators on unemployment and jobs creation noted above that are typically featured by the press.

Problems with the April Jobs Report

While the Current Establishment Survey (CES) Report (covering large businesses) shows 263,000 jobs created last month, the Current Population Survey (CPS) second Labor Dept. report (that covers smaller businesses) shows 155,000 of these jobs were involuntary part time. This high proportion (155,000 of 263,000) suggests the job creation number is likely second and third jobs being created. Nor does it reflect actual new workers being newly employed. The number is for new jobs, not newly employed workers. Moreover, it’s mostly part time and temp or low paid jobs, likely workers taking on second and third jobs.

Even more contradictory, the second CPS report shows that full time work jobs actually declined last month by 191,000. (And the month before, March, by an even more 228,000 full time jobs decline).

The much hyped 3.6% unemployment (U-3) rate for April refers only to full time jobs (35 hrs. or more worked in a week). And these jobs are declining by 191,000 while part time jobs are growing by 155,000. So which report is accurate? How can full time jobs be declining by 191,000, while the U-3 unemployment rate (covering full time only) is falling? The answer: full time jobs disappearing result in an unemployment rate for full time (U-3)jobs falling. A small number of full time jobs as a share of the total labor force appears as a fall in the unemployment rate for full time workers. Looked at another way, employers may be converting full time to part time and temp work, as 191,000 full time jobs disappear and 155,000 part time jobs increase.

Despite ongoing talks between Washington and the Taliban to end the war in Afghanistan, US forces and their Afghan allies have killed more civilians than all insurgent groups combined so far this year.

The ongoing talks between the US Trump administration and the Afghan Taliban are being hyped as a significant step towards ending the 17-year war in Afghanistan.

In truth, though, the talks, if successful, may end up only ending one of the many wars currently being fought in the country. The US-led intervention has passed its 17th year, but conflict and chaos in Afghanistan have been taking place for the past 40 years.

Afghan occupation an old story

Recently, the 30th anniversary of the Soviet withdrawal passed. During the almost ten-year-long occupation, around two million Afghans died. After the withdrawal, the war in the country far from ending evolved as different Mujahidin warlords jockeyed for power. Hundreds of thousands of Afghan civilians were killed during the civil war in the early 1990s.

And as we also know today, Moscow's withdrawal was just a pullback from the country. It is true that on February 15 1989, the last Soviet soldier left Afghanistan over the Amu Darya river. But it is also true that the Russians continued to back the Afghan Communist dictatorship, the government of Mohammad Najibullah, and that intelligence advisors stayed with the regime to support its continuing war against the Mujahidin groups.

A similar scenario could take place today. Apart from the fact that a real withdrawal plan is not on the table yet, many questions remain. Will all US and NATO troops leave the country? Will a small contingent stay? Will aerial operations stop? How will the Americans continue to support the Afghan National Army? And what will happen with American-backed Afghan militias that are not part of that very army?

Trump administration gets war marching orders from Tel Aviv: American analyst

Judge under fire over social media post that said Jews should 'get the f*** over the Holocaust'; commissioners call for censure

A Tennessee judge has come under fire after he shared a racist and anti-Semitic article on Facebook that called for Jews to "get the f*** over the Holocaust."

A coalition of organizations has called for the censure of Shelby County Criminal Court Judge Jim Lammey over the controversy that came to light last week, WMC-TV reported.

On Wednesday, the Shelby County Commissioners held its first vote on the resolution asking that Lammey be formally disciplined. Of the 13-member commissioners, 10 signed on as sponsors of the resolution by the close of the meeting.

A number of organizations including the Jewish Community Partners, the NAACP Memphis branch, the Memphis Islamic Center, American Muslim Advisory Council, among others, have filed complaints against the judge.

"We had to act," Laura Linder of Jewish Community Partners told WMC. "Collectively, we have said we won't allow this to happen in Shelby County."

Lammey was appointed to the 30th judicial district in Shelby County in 2006. Prior to his appointment, he served 16 years as an assistant district attorney.

What happened?

On April 5, Lammey shared a racist screed by David Cole, which was published a few days earlier on Taki's Magazine. Cole, who is Jewish, reportedly gained notoriety for denying the Holocaust.

Cole wrote in his rambling piece that Jews should "get the f*** over the Holocaust" and he described Muslims as "foreign mud."

"In a perfect world, these rabbinical Rain Men would finally get the f*** over the Holocaust and end their war of hostility against the West," Cole wrote. "They'd see that whites are no longer the enemy, but indeed the opposite. They'd see that importing foreign mud to mold golem after golem in traditionally white regions of the U.S. is bad strategy."

Oregon Elementary School Teacher Tried to Convince 8-Year-Old Student He’s Transgender

It doesn’t get much crazier than this. According to KPTV-TV, an Oregon elementary school teacher tried to convince an 8-year-old student that he was transgender. The schoolteacher did this without involving the parents. The result? The boy is now aggressive, depressed, and confused.

The teacher at Nellie Muir Elementary School in Woodburn targeted the boy for transgender indoctrination when he started using the staff restroom after a stomach issue made him feel uncomfortable about using the boys’ toilet. The teacher took the 8-year-old aside, spoke shortly to him, and then proceeded to share all kinds of transgender literature and videos with him. The teacher asked the boy several times whether he thought he was a girl and even held him out of recess in order to read transgender books and watch transgender videos. Oh, and to top it off, there were one-on-one conversations about transgenderism.

All this was done without the parents’ consent or even their knowledge. It only came out when the boy came home with a book about transgenderism and when he talked to a therapist (while crying his eyes out).

Swat team raids home of journalist who refused to reveal source after exposing how state attorney had died of cocaine overdose.

A freelance journalist with connections to several San Francisco news outlets claimed his home was raided by local and federal law enforcement agents early Friday morning in connection to the leak of sensitive police records related to the death of former public defender Jeff Adachi.

In an interview with the San Francisco Examiner published late Friday evening, Bryan Carmody claimed agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant on his home early Friday morning and confiscated several electronic devices, including cellphones and computers.

A search warrant was also executed on Carmody’s office where police located a copy of an investigatory report connected to Adachi’s death, Carmody said.

Adachi was found dead in mid-February after having dinner with a friend, police said. The county coroner determined Adachi died from a mixture of cocaine and ethanol ingestion, according to a medical report recently released.

Shortly after his death, the San Francisco Police Department launched an investigation. Within days, sensitive investigatory records — including crime scene photographs — were published by a number of television news stations, including ABC station KGO-TV.

Dan Noyes, the investigative reporter who aired numerous reports based on the investigative material, pledged not to reveal the identity of his source. But an investigator with the public defender’s office revealed last month that an unidentified news stringer was shopping copies of the report to various news outlets, including an unnamed KRON-TV reporter who complained her station could not afford the staggering $2,500 price tag.

While one can conceptualize the loss of life and destruction resulting from present-day wars including Iraq and Afghanistan, it is impossible to fully comprehend the devastation which might result from a Third World War, using “new technologies” and advanced weapons, until it occurs and becomes a reality. The international community has endorsed nuclear war in the name of world peace. “Making the world safer” is the justification for launching a military operation which could potentially result in a nuclear holocaust.”

The stockpiling and deployment of advanced weapons systems directed against Iran started in the immediate wake of the 2003 bombing and invasion of Iraq. From the outset, these war plans were led by the U.S. in liaison with NATO and Israel.

Following the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the Bush administration identified Iran and Syria as the next stage of “the road map to war”. U.S. military sources intimated at the time that an aerial attack on Iran could involve a large scale deployment comparable to the U.S. “shock and awe” bombing raids on Iraq in March 2003:

American air strikes on Iran would vastly exceed the scope of the 1981 Israeli attack on the Osiraq nuclear center in Iraq, and would more resemble the opening days of the 2003 air campaign against Iraq.1

“Theater Iran Near Term” (TIRANNT)

Code named by U.S. military planners as TIRANNT, “Theater Iran Near Term”, simulations of an attack on Iran were initiated in May 2003 “when modelers and intelligence specialists pulled together the data needed for theater-level (meaning large-scale) scenario analysis for Iran.”2

The scenarios identified several thousand targets inside Iran as part of a “Shock and Awe” Blitzkrieg:

The analysis, called TIRANNT, for “Theater Iran Near Term,” was coupled with a mock scenario for a Marine Corps invasion and a simulation of the Iranian missile force. U.S. and British planners conducted a Caspian Sea war game around the same time. And Bush directed the U.S. Strategic Command to draw up a global strike war plan for an attack against Iranian weapons of mass destruction. All of this will ultimately feed into a new war plan for “major combat operations” against Iran that military sources confirm now [April 2006] exists in draft form.

In an utterly twisted logic, nuclear weapons are presented as a means to building peace and preventing “collateral damage”. Iran’s nonexistent nuclear weapons are a threat to global security, whereas those of the U.S. and Israel are instruments of peace “harmless to the surrounding civilian population.”

US-led Coalition And Its Proxies Conducted Night Live Drills In Al-Tanaf (Video)

The US-led coalition and its Syrian proxies conducted night live drills near the al-Tanaf garrison in southeastern Syrian on May 11.

“The Revolutionary Commando Army alongside Coalition Forces, conducted night exercises to increase their combat capabilities and prevent the return of Daesh [ISIS] to the 55K no one was hurt in these exercises,” the Revolutionary Commando Army said in a short press release.

The US-backed group released a video showing what appears to be a High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) of the coalition conducting a live firing exercise as a part of the drills.

Last month, the US-led coalition and its proxies conducted several similar live drills, in what appears to be an attempt to deter Damascus and its allies, which stepped up their military presence around al-Tanaf.

Damascus and its allies are pressuring the coalition in order to evacuate more than 50,000 civilians, who are trapped in the al-Rukban camp in the 55km zone around al-Tanaf. The camp’s residents are lacking sufficient food supplies and medial care.

A recent report by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) revealed that more than 7,500 civilians have been evacuated from the nearby US-controlled Rukban refugee camp by the Damascus government and Russian forces.
