Watched the Pompeo livestream from Claremont. On the surface it was less than I expected, but looking back there was an odd line that at first I was going to post, but then I refrained since it didn't seem to make sense. Pompeo thanked his speechwriters for his joke about Leo Strauss, but then there seemed to be no joke about Leo Strauss. But… THAT IS THE JOKE. Leo Strauss focuses on esoteric political writing and I suspect the Leo Strauss "joke" was a hidden reference to Michael Anton and "The Flight 93 Election". Hahaha!
