My appraisal is that this is by and large genuine. If the US reached out, they would love to work with us and actually IMO be our allies. This can not happen though, until our house is cleaned of vermin…which has not yet happened.
Bottom line at this time is that IMO Russia would sit it out if things broke loose right now, but with deep regret & worry. Ergo, if China has chosen confrontation instead of making an honest deal, they will do it quickly now, before we can finish our house cleaning. That house cleaning here can not be finished until DJT wins reelection in 18 months. So that 18 months is one of the most dangerous periods of time in the history of the world.
Watch India, for they are a major player in all this, maybe the decisive force.
