the design of Fukushima was to put the back up generators in a basement below sea level next to the ocean on an active faultline.
and then they put MOX fuelrods into a reactor that wasn't designed for it.
it was only a matter of time…
Uranium / plutonium doesnt contain enough energy to pay for its own life cycle (mining, refining, transport, use, disposal and security), so basically its a shitty idea unless you want to make weapons. And funnily enough you need a nuclear reactor to make weapons grade material.
Interesting how Japan shut ALL its reactors down after Fukushima and there was still enough electricity…
