>>6488532 It is both, crystal clear. Show you love him by following his rules. Fear his wrath if you do not.

To this anon, fear of the Lord, as stated, was indeed the beginning of wisdom. Those words say what they mean and mean what they say.

>>6488532 This is his house, ergo his rules. Those rules are a reflection of his essence. We are the highly fortunate creation, made in his likeness & image, which is given the free will to choose whether to be like him or not. What does "wrath" mean? It means someone chose to be "other than" the perfection offered by the creator. Therefore, at the end of the test period, we are placed either with the sheep on one side or the goats on the other. As Jesus said, choose life. Goats go in the burn pile, aka "the pit." A refuse burning pit is exactly what it is. When reading scriptural phrases such as "the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever," know that 'forever' means until the end of the age only, which is right then, immediately after the judgment. So choose life, & see the glory, or death, and be removed. Also keep in mind that "the former times will not be brought to mind." The failed, burned souls will not even be remembered. Damnatio memoriae indeed.
