Sometimes I forget that younger anons aren't taught about some events at school.
The Terry Melcher/Manson/Dennis Wilson association has been known since the Manson trials in the 70's. The book "Helter Skelter" covers it pretty thoroughly for those interested. The world was horrified by the violence of the murders, particularly the pregnant Sharon Tate's, and it was really the first time in my memory that there was mass public awareness of cults. Jonestown followed a few years later, and there was a joke about Moonies in the comedy movie "Airplane".
I pity anybody who was forced to attempt to raise teenagers in California in the 60's and 70's.
God, it was so bad. The smart ones picked up and moved away back then.
California's best days were post-WWII up until maybe 1965.
