This Common Food Additive Harms Gut Health, Could Trigger Disease

 

A food additive found in more than 900 food products such as chewing gum and mayonnaise has an impact on the gut microbiota which could trigger diseases.

 

University of Sydney research provides new evidence that nanoparticles, which are present in many food items, may have a substantial and harmful influence on human health.

 

The study investigated the health impacts of food additive E171 (titanium dioxide nanoparticles) which is commonly used in high quantities in foods and some medicines as a whitening agent. Found in more than 900 food products such as chewing gum and mayonnaise, E171 is consumed in high proportion everyday by the general population.

 

Published in Frontiers in Nutrition, the mice study found that consumption of food containing E171 has an impact on the gut microbiota (defined by the trillions of bacteria that inhabit the gut) which could trigger diseases such as inflammatory bowel diseases and colorectal cancer.

 

Co-lead author Associate Professor Wojciech Chrzanowski said the study added substantially to a body of work on nanoparticle toxicity and safety and their impact on health and environment.

 

“The aim of this research is to stimulate discussions on new standards and regulations to ensure safe use of nanoparticles in Australia and globally,” he said.

 

While nanoparticles have been commonly used in medicines, foods, clothing, and other applications, the possible impacts of nanoparticles, especially their long term effects, are still poorly understood.

 

Titanium dioxide consumption has considerably increased in the last decade and has already been linked to several medical conditions, and although it is approved in food, there is insufficient evidence about its safety.

 

Increasing rates of dementia, auto-immune diseases, cancer metastasis, eczema, asthma, and autism are among a growing list of diseases that have been linked to soaring exposure to nanoparticles.

 

“It is well established that dietary composition has an impact on physiology and health, yet the role of food additives is poorly understood,” said Associate Professor Chrzanowski, a nanotoxicology expert from the University of Sydney’s School of Pharmacy and Sydney Nano Institute.

 

“There is increasing evidence that continuous exposure to nanoparticles has an impact on gut microbiota composition, and since gut microbiota is a gate keeper of our health, any changes to its function have an influence on overall health.”

 

“This study presents pivotal evidence that consumption of food containing food additive E171 (titanium dioxide) affects gut microbiota as well as inflammation in the gut, which could lead to diseases such as inflammatory bowel diseases and colorectal cancer,” he said.

 

Co-lead author Associate Professor Laurence Macia from the University of Sydney said: “Our research showed that titanium dioxide interacts with bacteria in the gut and impairs some of their functions which may result in the development of diseases. We are saying that its consumption should be better regulated by food authorities.”

 

“This study investigated effects of titanium dioxide on gut health in mice and found that titanium dioxide did not change the composition of gut microbiota, but instead it affected bacteria activity and promoted their growth in a form of undesired biofilm. Biofilms are bacteria that stick together and the formation of biofilm has been reported in diseases such as colorectal cancer,” said Associate Professor Macia, who is an immunologist expert on the impacts of the gut and gut microbiota on health from the Faculty of Medicine and Health and the Charles Perkins Centre.

Is Global Famine On Dinner Plates After Autumn 2019 Courtesy Of Weather Geoengineering?

 

As I sit in SE Pennsylvania writing this article on May 12, 2019, I have to confess nothing here is normal weather-wise! Hey, it’s supposed to be springtime. However, it’s damp, dark—almost like at the pre-sunset hour; raw—bone-penetrating raw temps—at midday with temperatures ranging anywhere from the low 40s to 50s, depending upon location. Geo-engineered rain is falling—as most days in the last 2 years—all day long from microwave-produced scalar clouds. What a waste of ‘programmed’ water resources, which could be “meteorologically delivered” to the West Coast of the USA, that’s if weather programming geoengineers were generous and didn’t want to negatively and agriculturally ‘strategically’ impact the premiere fresh food (fruits and vegetables) growing state in the USA.

 

Yesterday began as a cloudless, dusky-clear-blue sky, with the blessed SUN shining overhead. I think everyone in the region was out and about basking in the luxury of SUNSHINE! Then, about 4PMish, 2 weather engineering planes flew overhead creating one spectacularly HUGE letter “X” in the sky above, which spread into an all-encompassing cloud cover apparently filled with high-energy microwave scalar clouds to usher in today’s “unseasonable” weather. Nothing here regarding weather is normal anymore; even radio commentators make remarks! By the way, this pattern will last until Wednesday, May 15th, when the Sun and near normal temperatures are predicted to return. Then the apparent pre-programmed weather pattern probably will be rain or thundershowers daily, as has been the normal spring weather pattern in 2019.

 

In this region, it’s supposed to be spring crop planting time for farmers, who apparently are not very happy about muddy growing fields. No dry-out times seemingly are permitted this spring. Frankly, I can see it coming: No food harvests due to weather-issue-related crop damage and failures!

With the US-Iran War Ball Now Rolling, Could an “Accident” or “False Flag” Serve as Pretext?

 

Certain forces in the U.S. and Israel have been actively pushing for war with Iran for years and have a track record that demonstrates little inhibition about using an “accident” to start it.

 

As tensions between the U.S. and Iran threaten to boil over, the probability of a provocation or “accident” that would provoke hostilities between the two countries is higher than ever. U.K. Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt, after meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, openly stated as much on Monday, telling reporters in Brussels that the U.K. was worried of a conflict breaking out between the U.S. and Iran by “accident with an escalation that is unintended really on either side but ends with some kind of conflict.”

 

Yet, current and past events make it clear that such an “accidental” provocation is unlikely to be purely accidental in nature, as forces in the U.S. and Israel have been actively pushing for a U.S.-led war with Iran for years and have a track record that demonstrates little inhibition about using an “accident” or “false flag” to drag the country into a war with the Islamic Republic.

 

Notably, the state of Israel — in an event long since buried by the government and corporate media — has previously staged such a “false flag” by targeting an American naval vessel, killing 34 Americans, in order to blame the attack on Egypt and drag the U.S. into a war with several Middle Eastern nations in 1967. However, Israel is not alone in this, as the CIA as well as neo-conservatives serving in the Bush administration, led by then-Vice President Dick Cheney, have planned “false flags” that involved the murder of American servicemen and civilians in order to justify miltiary action against U.S. adversaries.

Netanyahu: “America is easily moved”

 

It is an open secret that Israel’s government, particularly under Netanyahu, has been eager to see the U.S. engage in hostilities with Iran. The main driver for this is the fact that, while Israel has since forged alliances with several Arab-majority nations such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, Iran and its regional allies — namely Lebanon’s Hezbollah and Syria — oppose Israeli objectives for the region and those of its allies. More crucially, Iran is arguably the country that is most supportive of Palestine and the major barrier to Netanyahu’s plans to annex Palestine’s occupied West Bank, a promise on which Netanyahu rode to reelection last month. Netanyahu has openly stated that he views the U.S. government as a vehicle for fulfilling Israeli objectives and believes that Americans are easily manipulated, by Israel in particular. For instance, in a video recorded in the early 2000s — later broadcast on Israeli TV and subsequently reported on by Consortium News — Netanyahu “brags about how he deceived President Bill Clinton into believing he [Netanyahu] was helping implement the Oslo accords when he was actually destroying them. The tape displays a contemptuous attitude toward, and wonderment at, a malleable America so easily influenced by Israel.”

 

In the video, Netanyahu states:

 

America is something that can be easily moved. Moved in the right direction. They won’t get in our way; 80 percent of the Americans support us. It’s absurd.”

 

Israeli journalist Gideon Levy later asserted that the video reveals Netanyahu to be “a con artist who thinks that Washington is in his pocket and that he can pull the wool over its eyes” and that the current Israeli prime minister’s attitude is unlikely to “change over the years.”

The quote from John Ehrlichman, who served as President Richard Nixon’s domestic policy chief gained new notoriety after appearing in a cover story in Harper’s Magazine by author Dan Baum.

 

“You want to know what this was really all about,” Ehrlichman, who died in 1999, said, referring to Nixon’s declaration of war on drugs. “The Nixon campaign in 1968, and the Nixon White House after that, had two enemies: the antiwar left and black people. You understand what I’m saying. US envoy admits to blocking Syria’s return to the Arab League

 

The U.S. Special Representative for Syria, James Jeffrey, told Asharq Al-Awsat that his nation wants the immediate and full withdrawal of Iranian forces from the Levantine country.

 

According to Jeffrey, the U.S. will not allow “fill the void” in the northeastern part of the country, should they choose to follow through on President Donald Trump’s order to withdraw.

 

Jeffrey said the U.S. will continue to pressure the Syrian government through economic sanctions and halt any normalization with Arab states until a “new political government is formed.”

 

The U.S. official’s comments come just two months after Lebanon and Iraq attempted to restore Syria’s membership to the Arab League.

 

Prior to the meeting, Al-Akhbar released an exclusive article that revealed Washington’s threats to Lebanon if they were to push for Syria’s reinstatement in the Arab League.

 

“We will continue to find different ways to pressure [Syria] until the regime decides to cooperate on the political process,” he said. “The solution is political; not military.”

 

Jeffrey has been outspoken about the U.S.’ demands of the Syrian government; however, neither side has sat down to discuss any potential peace plan.

 

Damascus argues that the U.S. is illegally occupying parts of Syria, which is a violation of international law.
