YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan – Some personnel at the home of U.S. Forces Japan in western Tokyo have been ordered to lock down, according to alerts sent Tuesday morning.
“REAL WORLD: LOCKDOWN West side of Yokota Air Base,” said a text message sent by the base at 11:26 a.m.
A message posted about 10 minutes later to Yokota’s official Facebook page added that “all personnel on the west side are directed to lock down. All gates except the east gate are currently closed.”
Base officials did not immediately respond to calls and emails seeking additional information.
