I want to make a point about "food safety". In the past I thought "food safety" referred to testing foods for microbial pathogens, primarily. However, Monsanto has just been assessed 2 billion dollars in punitive damages for causing NHL in the case of a married couple who both developed the cancer after using glyphosate-based herbicide (Round-up). The CDC and other 3 letter agencies like to portray that they are protecting us from dangerous microbes (measles, for example or bacteria on Romaine lettuce). However, this skews our perspective on the real risks from food borne (and pharmaceutical) hazards in food and medicines. The USDA "organic" label has been comped. It is time to demand truly independent testing of the foods we eat for chemical and metal contamination. This web site, Mamavation, indicates that so-called "organic" pea protein powders contain glyphosate!!
