Notepad++ is Windows.
The Linux app for plain text is gedit.
Gedit has all the necessary features.
You can do a word/character count on an entire text, or on a selected subset.
You can open multiple tabs.
You can search and/or replace.
You can cut & paste.
Why would a Linux user ever install a Windows-like app when a native app does everything they need?
Just sayin' - what you wrote looks kinda stupid.
