you guys, if this is off subject I'm terribly sorry, if I need to post this somewhere else please let me know, I haven't been on here in a while as I've been busy with college, but I have a question for anyone willing to answer. I just had this thought after beginning to dig again and wanted to run it by you guys to see if it's worth doing. I want to write a program that will allow us to not spend as much time digging through search results in a search engine and give us more time to draw conclusions, and, overall, speed up the research process. You guys do an incredible job on your own but I had a spark ignite in me and I decided I NEEDED to use the skills I've gained since I started lurking here to do something that actually fucking matters.

I browsed /b/ around 2007-2010 and then became (mostly) your typical normie until a friend told me about Q in the beginning of 2018 and I eventually found my way here. I gotta be honest with you guys, this whole thing changed my life. I quit fucking around (had no job or real-world skills) and went to college for computer programming. I have a good job now, good friends, a solid family relationship (still no gf rip); I'm learning a ton every day and it's because of all of you instilling in me an expectation for change.

I want to give back some how, and I feel like this is the way. If there's a better way I want to know, but what I really want to know is what would make a program like this worth writing. Should it return obscure results? Sites not a lot of people have visited? Should it just search keywords to bypass search engine's internal algorithms and hopefully refine the search? Should it be able to do both if you want it to? Is there something I could write that would help all of you more?

Also, another big question, if and when the program is completed, how can I make sure you guys can access it in a way that makes certain I have no ill intentions? How can I make sure people are willing to use it?

Again, I know how shills are and how this wall of text can be seen as board sliding or an attempt to get people off topic, which is why I'm mentioning again that if this is the wrong place to bring this up I want to know where I need to go; I'm only here because this is the most active board I know of and I wanted to get some feedback. Thanks in advance guys.

Thank you for giving me somewhere to start. I really appreciate it. This is all very helpful. I will keep all of this in mind going forward.

A program to browse faster is a great idea, I'm surprised it didn't take off. I'll have to check it out and make some use of it.

To be honest though, I haven't given the program itself much thought, I just had the idea to make something come to me and I figured I would start here by asking you guys if there's anything you need that you don't have and see where it goes.

I will try my best to build something that's useful. I can't promise amazing results immediately as I am still learning how to do many things but I'll give it my best shot.

Thanks again anon.

Thank you for your reply, I think that this is the way to go. I will build multiple versions and see which one preforms the best. I think that just attempting something like this will lead to something better being made.

yeah, I was worried that my post would be overlooked so I filled the name field in the hope that it would get some attention, but that really goes against the whole point of the site and feels disingenuous, honestly. It's better left blank.

It feels good to be awake and free finally, I have all of you to thank for that. I appreciate your kind words, thank you.
