Alright, anons. Yesterday I made a new twitter (new IP address, new email using a different host in a fresh browser install) as an experiment after my previous one was restricted for following Republican "unpersons". The new one was restricted within 10 minutes after following 20 leftist accounts like HRC and BHO. It demanded my phone number to unlock it, which isn't going to happen, so I appealed and politely asked what I did wrong and if they could unlock it for me.

I got the attached email and the account is unlocked. Now I'm leaving twitter open in the background and not touching a single button–no follows, no likes, nothing at all. We'll see how long the account lasts.
