>edit- googled "pagan god"

Pagan gods were not like our God, an infinite all powerful being who lives in the sky, yet everywhere at the same time. They were not planets or stars though stars were later attributed to them. They were ALIVE, and lived either on a mountain, mountain cave or more often in the temple itself. The temple was the "house of god", an expression mistakenly used by Christians even today, and the ground floor served as the dining room. The world altar means table, and it was contructed of stone for ease of cleaning. The altar room also contained representations of the god, often symbolic, for the worship of the uninitiated. The living room of the god/s was the basement, often an elaborate cave system, or even a man made catacomb. The pagan god was a LOCAL/community god! They fed it! Look at Italians with all their madonnas, of you ask them they will tell you that their madonna is not the same as the madonna of the next town.

The "NAZI" reference referred to the Reich. Reich means empire! The Roman Empire! The first Reich was the eastern empire better known today as the Byzantine Empire. "Their" hate for it is the reason they gave Constantinople to the Turks. It was ruled by two Kaisers (Greek word!) and 2 Augustus. Its emblem was the 2 headed eagle, left facing eagle represented the west, and the right faced eagle represented the east, and each was headed by a Kaiser. The western eagle was what is now known as the Roman Empire and it was ruled by the German Hohenstaufen. After the East fell under the hand of the "Latins", the emblem of the Habsburg Roman Empire changed from the single headed eagle to the Double Headed Eagle. The Roman/Italian Empire, although emperors sometimes resided in Sicily, and spent their winters in Pompeii or later Naples.
