F-16 plane crashes at March Air Reserve Base in Riverside County
RIVERSIDE, Calif. (KABC) – An F-16 plane has crashed at the end of a runway at March Air Reserve Base in Riverside County.
The pilot of the plane, who was the only occupant, was ejected and is in unknown condition.
The crash was reported at about 3:15 p.m. The plane crashed at the end of the runway while landing, Major Perry Covington, a spokesman at March Reserve AFB, said.
The aircraft did not hit any buildings as has been reported elsewhere, Covington added.
The plane belongs to the 144th Fighter Wing. They are an Air National Guard unit based in Fresno.
