The Governor Kay Ivey has signed into law a ban on abortion in the state of Alabama. This legislation will be the most restrictive against the practice since abortion was legalized 46 years ago.
It also marks the start of what is shaping up to be an ugly battle for the rights of unborn lives.
It many ways this was the plan all along. Those supporting the bill expected to be met with heavy resistance and be forced to take the matter to a higher court. This will set the stage to change the nation. If the bill continues to move forward and ultimately wins in court, it will fundamentally change the United States and set the stage for other states to follow suit.
While the battle has begun, it is only getting started and there is a long way to go from here.

"Early on May 17, the Russian Center for reconciliation of the conflicting sides in Syria received information that terrorists from Jebhat al-Nusra are preparing a provocation in the Idlib province. According to residents of the Seraqab settlement, al-Nusra militants are preparing a provocation with the use of toxic chemicals and debris of Russian aviation's ordnance delivered from other Syrian regions. The aim of the provocation is to accuse Russian forces of using chemical weapons against civilians in Idlib," the Russian reconciliation center said.

US Delivers Dozens of Military Helicopters to Greece
Seventy OH-58D Kiowa Warrior reconnaissance helicopters and one CH – 47 Chinook helicopter have arrived in Greece from the US, in the context of agreements which have been signed by the two countries.
The helicopters were unloaded at the port of Volos on Thursday and subsequently flown by mixed US and Greek crews to the Hellenic Army Aviation air base at Stefanovikio, where, according to the latest information, the training of their crews will begin immediately.
The chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas, accompanied by Army Aviation Director Major General Christos Iliopoulos, visited the area to oversee the process.
According to an army announcement made on Friday, the “air assets have been characterized as immediately usable and are expected to become fully operational soon.”
The ceremony to officially incorporate the helicopters into the Greek Army Aviation force is expected to be held in mid-June.

Matthew Donovan to become acting Air Force secretary at end of month
Matthew P. Donovan, the under secretary of the Air Force, will become acting secretary of the service on June 1, after Air Force Secretary Heather Wilson resigns her position, the Pentagon announced Wednesday.
Wilson announced in March in a letter to President Donald Trump that she planned to resign at the end of May to become the president of the University of Texas at El Paso, according to the Pentagon.
“In her two years as secretary, Heather defined the Air Force the nation needs and made incredible progress in implementing the strategy to get us there,” acting Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan said in the prepared Pentagon statement, adding Donovan “will do a fantastic job.”
A native of Hancock, N.H., Donovan became the Air Force’s under secretary in August 2017 after working as the majority policy director for the Senate Armed Services Committee, according to his official Air Force biography.
Donovan, 60, is also an Air Force veteran, enlisting in 1977 and then commissioning through the Air Force Officer Training School in 1982. He served as a command pilot, flying the F-15C Eagle and the F-5E Tiger II tactical fighter aircrafts, according to his biography.

The first recorded Greek colony in the area of the Black Sea (Pontus) was established in Sinope around the year 800 BC. It is known that the first Pontic Greeks to colonize the area were merchants from the Ionian Greek city-state of Miletus.
Before the time of the settlement, the Black Sea had been referred to as “Axeinos Pontos” (“Inhospitable Sea”). After the settlement, the name was changed to the exact opposite, “Euxeinos Pontos” (Hospitable Sea). Soon, the Greek settlers established additional colonies along the entire Black Sea coastline in what are today the nations of Turkey, Bulgaria, Georgia, Russia, Ukraine, and Romania.

Adopting artificial intelligence (AI) is now no longer a choice but a must for companies as it not only increases efficiency but also saves money.
This is especially so for card firms, which face declining profits.
Most card firms have AI chatbots for customer inquiries. These provide answers to questions on paying bills, expenditure and reports on missing cards. They also enable cards to be issued and recommend customized products.
Shinhan Card was the first to introduce an AI chatbot in February 2017.
"Because the chatbot operates 24 hours, it is better able to attend to customers needs, especially those who are overseas," a Shinhan Card official said.
"It also saves costs in comparison to employing call-center workers."
Call-center costs include training and wages. There also is a high turnover of workers.
Shinhan upgraded its chatbot "Fani" last October so it is able to grasp the meaning of questions that are asked casually. Previously, the chatbot provided answers based on certain keywords in the questions.
